LEVEL 3 FIRST AID AT WORK (FAW)

The 3-day (18 hour) First Aid at Work course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Delegates will learn comprehensive first aid on this course. We also offer a two-day (12 Hour) Re-qualification course which is for First Aiders to refresh the skills they previously learned on a First Aid at Work course and renew a valid First Aid certificate for another three years.

CERTIFICATION

Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with a written assessment on each day. A three year Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. This is an Ofqual qualification that sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is valid for 3 years.

Primary survey - DRABC
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Safe use of a automated external defibrillator (AED)
Treatment for a choking casualty
Recognise and provide first aid to the following illnesses; heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes
Treatment for minor injuries including fractures and wounds
How to recognise and treat for casualties suffering from shock
Conduct a secondary survey
The severity of various types of head injuries
How to treat burns and scalds
How to administer first aid to a person suffering from anaphylaxis
How to treat a casualty suffering from poisoning

Open first aid at work courses are ideal for businesses who have a few members of staff that require first aid training. They are also open to the members of the public who are looking for a first aid qualification for individual learning or perhaps to help their future employment prospects.

All of our first aid courses are Ofqual accredited and currently held in our training rooms in Windlesham in Surrey. We are near Egham in between the cities of Guildford and Reading.
